First Time House Buyer

If you are considering buying your first house, consider the following tips

1. Always consider the future alternative.
This is your first house, and there is always the possibility that you are going to buy the next house. So consider the two steps, first, the house as your place of resident and secondly, a house as a property investment.

Whatever is your current state of personal economy, it is a mistake if yo do not think about the possible reselling. The considerations for investment and residence may not be exactly the same.

2. Type of house
This has a lot to do with personal preference and finance. The type of house may depend on what you can effort. If you are a young couple, it is likely that you prefer to buy an apartment. It can be the cheapest in the range. If I can effort it, I prefer a landed property. I prefer to raise children in my own backyard or garden.

3. Location
The location is important..
- as a residence - List the areas that you are prefer to stay.. consider your close family, your place of work and travelling facilities, LRT, train etc. If you are having children or plan to have children, then consider the facilities for them.. school, recreational etc.
- as investment- check for location next to development or reducing supply. The resale price is likely based on the economic model of demand and supply.

4. Space and areas - Consider the spaces for the expansion of your family. Do you plan to have two children or more. Likely, a three bedroom apartments will be the minimum, for yourself, your son and daughter.

There are the things that you need to look for...

5. Noises - if you are seriously thinking to stay, take some time to find out who your neighbours are. Your definitely do not want your nextdoor neighbor started to play drums or electric guitars in the middle of the night.

6. Pets - If your plan to have cats or dogs, look for apartment with spaces for the animals. You have to be fair to your neighbours and the animals itself.

One you have selected the areas or the apartments, do ask around for hidden problem. Your house my be prone to the flash flood whenever it rains, or the area may be subject to heavy traffic jams in the morning or evenings.
Do the check on the ownership and title and the developer. I made a few errors here, I bought a apartment constructed by Talam Holding with poor quality, an investment with negative return.
