The concept of retirement resort in Klang Valley has not been popular as yet. However in some countries like New Zealand and Australia, the new homes are gaining popularity.
The new concept of retirement resort wants to erase the stigma of retirement home. The resort is the place where the retirees want to live and enjoy themselves being looked after. The amenities include spas, malls and cafe.
An operator in Australia under the Aveo brand has been operating the 75 such resort and retirement village. The total number of residents are around 12,000.
There seem to be a growing needs in Malaysia, especially in the Klang Valley, when you consider the increasing percentage of aging population and the changing trends in family practices.
